Description

This certificate is designed to provide students with exposure (i. e. a basic fluency) to the principles, issues, and tools within the field of data science. Starting from a base of only college algebra, and not requiring calculus, this certificate provides familiarity in statistics and programming, as well as skills in data wrangling and data ethics, and the application of these skills in at least one domain.

A working knowledge of the normal distribution and its role in sampling

A working knowledge of linear regression and correlation, uses and limitations of the central limit theorem and the normality assumption, and basics of testing and confidence intervals
